Here`s my 1968 Ford Torino 2dr hardtop (65C code car). It originally came equipped with a C-code 289 V8, coupled to a C4 3 speed auto. It was painted Lime Green (I code) and had black cloth and vinyl interior. It had been restored in 2007 and received a new paint job since then – Black Cherry and got a new orange upholstery. However, the engine is now far from a stock setup (except for a crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons, which are all stock). Performance upgrades: The engine:
For some unknown reasons to me, I forgot to install a performance torque converter. Well, I calculated the proper stall speed for the application above and it turned out I`d need at least something between 2800–3200 RPM. As you may guess, the stock torque converter does not provide enough “kick” at lower RPM levels, thus it bogs off the line, which is pretty sad. The engine is now capable of generating serious horsepower but only above 4k RPM mark. I will work on that soon.
Hope you like my ride :)
