Despite our recent sweltering here in Oklahoma, almost 300 cars converged on Bristow Oklahoma September 3rd. Bristow is a small town along old Route 66 about 30 miles west of Tulsa. Main st. in Bristow probably doesn't get 300 cars on it in a week so this was a huge turnout. The show was put on to benefit the local animal shelter. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, golf-carts, 2 semi trucks and a guy that jumped ropes on a unicycle were just a few of the sights that were set up.
We put a good wash and wax on our Mustang and off we went, armed with a CoolFords shirt and dreams of awesome prizes. Our Mustang is a 2011 5.0 GT Premium Coupe. The wheels have been hand painted to look like carbon fiber and the motor has been painted to match. The 5.0 emblems have also joined in on the carbon fiber look. The car is a daily driver. It is driven 60 miles everyday with 1/2 mile of that being done at a crawl on a gravel road. All of the paint work was done by Car FX in Tulsa Oklahoma.
We had a great time despite the heat. Our dreams of awesome prizes came true when the Mustang and our truck were each awarded the gas pump, clock, piggy bank trophy. They are proudly displayed on top of the TV. -Kenny
