My husband has an F-250 and was having trouble starting it. I saw him get out of his truck with a screw driver, open the hood and moments later I heard the truck start. He wasn't in the cab, but was still under the hood! Well curiosity got the better of me so I asked him how he started it. I found out that he used the screwdriver to jump the solenoid posts after turning on the ignition. Is it a common thing for the solenoid to stop working like that? Is it something only common to Fords or is it common to all makes and models? I'm just wondering.
