I am a little shocked to see this and while its not my favorite Ford make, it is a pretty decent model if I can shout that out here. Has no one read Wiki “11th fastest production car”, that does say something being in the top dozen of cars. And you are not paying an arm and leg for it, it only drops you back how much again? :) Really though, snazzy car, not in my pocketbook range but overall pretty nice when it comes stock like that.
I think the GT is a cool looking car, but I have yet to run into anyone that knows how to tune one. Sure it comes with a lot of stock horsepower, but what is the point if you can't modify it yourself.
The thing is the people who can appreciate the amount of power a GT comes with don't want to take a chance and mess around under the hood especially if no one has done it before.
The people who are not into racing just don't see the point in having all of that horsepower.
Like I said before, I can't find anyone who knows how to tune a GT.
There is a guy in the Connecticut area…Jannetti Racing who tweaked mine. I have the X-caliber tune, pulleys, cold air intake. Granetelli throttle body, Headers and SLP exhaust. The car gets 14 miles per gallon. WITHOUT the traction on if I pull say a five grand shift and bang second the 20 inch tires break into a spin. THIS IS SERIOUSE POWER. This is not a delicate car …It LOVES to be driven hard it seems.

Alternative auto performance in Michigan tunes them, and there is one of the more major turbocharger companies that sells kits for them and those are pushing 1100hp.
I understand ordinary folks dont seem to understand horsepower.....its simple THE MORE YOU HAVE THE MORE YOU WANT. I have an 2005 Mustang GT with some add ons. Its very quick…but you know its like any other addiction. I LOVE!!!!! my horsepower. The ability to melt em and get out of traffic. You really need to know what your doing or you will bite off more than you can chew in a SPLIT second. You could end up in the bushes OR WORSE. My car is just under 400 horse…thats SLOW compared to a supercharged car.
