Though I do understand most ‘Stangers love to see an original/stock mustang, there is a place for modified/custom 'Stangs.
The '65 mustang I have now, most would say “How could you do that”. In this case the '65 was involved in an accident. It was saved and brought back to life. Though not in its original configuration. It’s still on the road, being shown off, and definately talked about.
Any comments?

I totally agree, stock is great on old classic cars, but there is room for certain situations and definitely recovering from an accident would never be able to bring it back to complete stock. I for one am for some modern conveniences like power brakes/steering/windows/locks. I like to drive so as much as I would love to own a completely stock 65 or any earlier model mustang its just not suited for daily driving. So people would trailer it or garage it 24/7, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You did a good thing saving that pony!
Ours is far from original also, but, it still draws attention, and is a load of fun! That's part of the fun of owning a Mustang of any year – they're easily modified to fit OUR desires, not someone else's. Sure, we'd love to have a completely original totally restored ‘65 in place of the one we have, but, we’re just thankful to have what we DO have, and are going to enjoy it no matter what. Life's way too short to worry about originality, when going down the road's available!!!
I agree, my 65 was all orginal (not running, and MAJOR rust on it) when i bought it off my brother. I would have kept it stock, but my friend who was helping me build it left my 289 block outside in the rain. I am currently building it up, but I have no intention of making stock. I am putting a 302ci in it orginally from a 1988 Bronco that now has a 5.8L (351W). I am in the process of ordering parts from NPD. I'm only 16 and it's my second major project (a 1969 F-250 ranger camper special w/ a 465FE) but it's my first car and it'll never be done. i'm always gonna have it and keep it running and make improvements upon it. Maybe someday it'll have an all-alumninum block. but for now i'm just getting running.
The past two generations of the Ford Mustang have had retro styling, hearkening to classic Mustangs from the 1960s. However, Ford has announced that the next generation Mustang will drop the retro appointments. The next Mustang is supposed to debut in April 2014 on the 50th anniversary of the debut of the original model, according to Inside Line. Ford wants to be able to attract younger buyers. Though muscle cars are typically the province of younger people, it is felt that the current Mustang, with its retro-styling that recalls the classic Mustangs, appeals more to older people. The average age of a Mustang buyer these days is older than 50. Article source: Ford Mustang will not have retro styling in next generation
It seems Ford likes to repeat their mistakes. To drop the retro style for up and coming year models is a big mistake. To think that the younger generation wants something new is not entirely true. I know plenty of young folks that love the classic styling of the first gen Mustangs. I'm sure Ford thinks the Tuner look will corral many young enthusiasts. Nothing could be further from the truth. With todays computer technology Ford design department has plenty of restyling room using the classic 65–70 look. Euro/Asian styling sux. Ford should be a leader not a follower.
