Rally Rides

Anyone watch Mirra in the X games lately when he almost totalled the car first round then had to reverse/forward for the rest of the race? Same time as the other guy ended up flipping his? I wonder if I would every consider trying to rally race, I think I would more if I did not need to worry about the car expenses (which in x games they don't).
