In the Ford that you normally drive, do you carry a full sized spare? And if not, why not-do you not have room for one? How do you cope, how well can you drive on one that isn't full sized?

I agree that using the

I agree that using the donut would be problematic at best, and I can't imagine going more than forty miles an hour and crawling along even slower if the roads were not good, or if you were on a big incline.

I've had a full sized spare in most cars I can think of as well. I might have started out with a donut until the first tire replacement, but I normally keep the best tire (assuming its safe) instead of a donut at that point.

I've always carried a full sized spare if I could. I've only had one small sports car that couldn't fit a full sized spare in the same space as the smaller donut. Since you never get a flat where it would be safe to use the donut to get to a garage there's no point in not replacing it with a full size tire.

I normally start out with a donut. But, then once we have changed tires we keep the best one for a spare. I don't like using those donut tires at all, but there have been times when I was glad we had one with us. It always feels good to replace it with a full size one though.
