Best Time of Year to Buy New Car?
Whats the best time of year to buy a new car from a dealership? Is there a certain time of year they cut down prices and are really striving to make sales above profits or is it pretty even all year?
We bought our used car Dec
We bought our used car Dec 31st and after talking them up on the trade in they practically picked us up so we could finalize the sale before the new year to boost sales. Got us an extra $230 in trade in value though. Normally the end of a period is the best time as they are trying to make sales numbers. One more sale could be the difference in the tightening market.
I've always noticed that it
I've always noticed that it seems like November and December are the best times to buy a new vehicle. Sure it would be a model of the present year but dealerships tend to drop their prices close to the end of the year to make room for bringing in the next year models. It might be a car that has sat on the lot all year and has a few miles from test drives, but this would still be considered new to me and well worth the money you might save.

I agree, the year end
I agree, the year end sales are always the best time because the dealerships are getting desperate to get rid of current stock and take on the new year's stuff. I've not gone looking at that time myself because I always bought when a current car broke down, but I've notice the sales even so.
This is true. I have seen
This is true. I have seen some dealership give awesome deals in January on the previous year's models. So, once the new models start coming in, it might also be a good time to buy a „new“ previous year model.

I must admit when reading
I must admit when reading this topic I thought back to my childhood years. The first time I heard „cash back“ I really thought they gave you money to buy the car. :) I now know better, then again those were the years I still thought of Santa…..until I became him.
