As a left hander, I find that many tasks in life are awkward-because quite simply we are living in a right handed world. The same goes for driving, and quite honestly if I won the lottery I think I'd consider getting a car modified to suit me better.

Or maybe I should just move to the UK where all cars would suit! Anyone else struggle with being caggy handed?

I hope you don't take offense to this, but when I was younger I learned to drive a manual left handed as I was the passenger and while not so safe, we would eat in the car a good deal. Car word for truck really and the driver needs his right hand to hold his burger. When I started to drive myself I had no issues swapping to the righty and it still works the same both now as I'm older. I just don't get it I guess.

I do get it. Kind of.

I'm right handed and haven't had any problems switching from side to side when I went abroad.

But did you know that left handed people have a shorter life expectancy than right handed people? Some people put it down to stress at living in a world where they can't use anything and others to death by accident-slipping when using a right handed can opener maybe and dying from an injury-or other injuries.

I know people whose left hand is almost useless, so I can fully believe that for lefties that the right might be not so good.

You could always buy a mail vehicle. I know a couple of our rural delivery drivers have regular cars that are lefties, and my friend's first truck was actually a lefty. Nothing is more fun than taking your driver's license test in a standard left truck in the winter. lol
