My Escort
My husband and I got an Escort when my oldest child was less than a year old. It was so good on gas! I wish I had it still, even though it would so cramped since we have 3 kids now instead of just 1.

Yes I would say that is a fairly small vehicle to tote around little ones in. I don't know many people that have them for more than just a single persons main car to drive. How long have you had it for?

Actually, we don't have it anymore. My husband wrecked it trying to miss a horse that was in the middle of the road, by hitting another horse, lol. Seriously, the horses got loose from some guy's farm and as we rounded the curve, there the one was. He swerved to miss it and hit another one that decided to step our way. Good thing we weren't going very fast, it was a foggy night. The bad part is, the owner of the horses knew that his horses had been getting out but had done nothing to prevent them. Oh yeah, the horse we did hit, was fine. You would have never guessed it had got hit, lol.

Depending on the type of car seat you bought, you could have still done this, but you might have had a hard time finding room for all the bags you'd need to take the family out. They are nice cars, and decent runners too.

My father has a little black '81 Escort. This car has been driven by me, my brother and my sister whenever one of our cars is being repaired. (All of our cars are newer than the Escort.) The body of the car is so rusted that only a very light-weight child could sit in the back because of the tin panels my dad sautered to the floor when it rusted out. But that little engine just keeps running. We have all said that the engine will still be running when it falls through the bottom of the car.

Three little ones in the back seat would have been a snug fit at best. These days it is hard to choose between comfort and economy with a vehicle. I couldn't imagine having three children in the same back seat. At least not without a referree!
