I don't see the appeal of such a big vehicle.

With today's gas prices and the ominus size of this vehicle I just don't see the appeal. It is a nice vehicle but it is just so huge and really sucks gas. I keep seeing more and more of these on the road it seems like. A friend had one and they said they felt safe and secure when driving. I asked them how safe is it to drive a vehicle that they can't afford the gas to put in it. No comment after that.

Is anyone else seeing more of these?

Some people just still seem to watch a big vehicle. I know some that prefer them in case they are rear ended, but besides that or taking a ton of stuff with you everywhere you go it seems pointless.

Big cars were always geared to the big families. My father always went for the station wagons, which I actually do miss. I don't understand why they continue to manufacture the big cars or SUV's when there aren't too many large families around anymore. How many corporations have heard about that tote the board around? I heard that was one of the reasons that the large vehicles are still being made.

Well I can understand the idea of a big car being safer but with the safety features of today's cars, I don' t think it's too relevant. Even the smallest cars now are built with support inside that stops them getting squished and is comparable in safety to larger cars.

You must not live where I do. Many people here have three or more children. Even with two kids once they get a certain age require the toting of tons of stuff (strollers, diaper bags, high chairs, etc and then sports gear and other stuff later on) and plenty of adults carry more than they ever need in their vehicles since they work 60+ hours a week and practically live out of their moving offices. I don't agree with it but I do understand it.

i have 4 kids ranging from 4 to 13 yrs old and a little tin box isnt too great when you need 2 for the whole family to go any where. If you dont drive one why are you posting in the bronco forum any way?
