100 Year Anniversary of the Model T
The Piquette Plant is the birthplace of the Model T and where it was produced for a few years before Ford started to sell more than they could make. It also came before the time of the assembly line, although it was experimented with there by pulling a base past workers while they worked in place instead of moving from car to car. As part of the celebration its getting a face lift, a museum is being put in and festivities will be held there. http://www.ford.com/…ace-of-28647
Wow, 1000!
Isn't it funny how there are so many of these early cars left and still running? Considering you're lucky that a car makes it ten years nowadays. There's at least a couple of Model Ts in my area because I see them in parades and car shows fairly frequently. I can't imagine seeing a parade of 1000 of them.
I saw a couple of reports
I saw a couple of reports on this and it looked like a great celebration. They estimated about 1,000 Model Ts were at one event/parade. We have come a long way since these first came out and made a lot of advances in assembly line production. Henry Ford would be proud.

I watched one going down
I watched one going down the street this afternoon while my cousin was in the car who is a little younger than me. He fully does not understand the hotness the T can have, I told him hes just too damn young to appreciate a car like that.
