Fords and Child Restraints

As a family head I have to consider the safety of the kids in the car when we travel. We have three-two in toddler seats and one in an infant seat and we are very pushed for space across the back.

Which of the cars (not interested in an SUV) would be most capable of carrying three seats? This is going to be most of concern when the little one is out of the infant seat and into the next size.

You'd be surprised what

You'd be surprised what people bring when they are looking at space in any car. My father use to pop me, my brother, an ice cooler and stroller in the back of a wagon to see if it would all fit. Oh then we got to try the seats!…lol thalia.

Without testing it out

Without testing it out myself I'm going to guess the full sized car would be the best bet. So maybe the Taurus? Try bringing three full sized toddler seats to a dealership and trying it out. I know we brought our dog crate to the dealership to make sure it would fit in the back of the Escape before we bought.

great idea

I never thought of bringing everything with me to check out the room when looking for a new car. I'll have to keep that in mind when we go in for another. We are debating something bigger but the gas prices keep us holding back.

Yes I guess I could take

Yes I guess I could take them with me to look at a car. But uninstalling, installing and then uninstalling, and finally installing back into our own car, three seats, at five to ten minutes per install-well that's a lot of time! Hence asking to see if anyone had already experienced this in the hope of reducing the work load.

One of the things that you

One of the things that you could think about is what seats you will be using in the car, rather than the car alone. Some seats are huge, very wide, like the Britax. Other seats are far narrower, like the Sunshine Kids, Radian 65 and 80. The later are the ones most often touted as being likely to fit three across in a car.
