Regenerative Breaking
I know little of this technology other than for the fact that breaking helps to recharge the batteries. Can anyone explain how this works, in layman's terms please? I'm rather curious.

As simple as I can put it,
As simple as I can put it, regenerative breaking allows the engine to work in reverse to charge the battery. Instead of combusting fuel for energy and giving off heat it reclaims heat and turns it into energy.
