What do you use to dry your car?

When I was growing up my dad used nothing but genuine chamois when drying the car but I find that some of the ones they sell in the stores work just as well even though they are not real chamois. They are much cheaper and I think do just as good of a job. What do you use?

I do let my car air dry as well but if I am going to wax it then I make sure it is dried and dried thoroughly. I think this makes a difference over air drying as if you wait too long the car body can be too hot to wax. If I use my cloth and dry it then I can start waxing right away.

After rinsing my car

After rinsing my car thoroughly so that there are no soapy streaks or bits of dirt or foreign matter on the paint, I just let it air dry.

I prefer a subtle

I prefer a subtle combination of mostly nitrogen, oxygen and argon with traces of Carbon Dioxide, Neon, Helium, Methane, Krypton, and Hydrogen with a little water vapor to make it nice and cohesive.

And if you don't get that joke, let me just say I like to keep it simple.

Very good ;) Almost as good

Very good ;) Almost as good as a post I once saw calling for the banning of dihydrogen oxide.

I used to use chamois but now use the microfibre cloths. The cloths themselves are far easier to care for than the leather.

I'm all for banning

I'm all for banning dihydrogen monoxide as well. Nasty stuff, too many risks and issues to be listed. I mean it corrosive, deadly, poisonous, and so many other things. The fact that the public is allowed to handle it at all is a disgrace to the scientific community.

Yeah, my dad would pull out

Yeah, my dad would pull out the old chamois and dry and polish away on his old car. I find that your formula works very well, however, Escape.

After I wash our old car, we just let it air dry. I don't worry overmuch about my car being shiny. My mom, however, would have us kids dry her car with towels and then the Turtle Wax was brought out. I hated waxing that car.
