Bus License Recommended
Recommended is a polite word. They really should require a bus license for people who buy these things. And maybe a booster seat if you are under 6 feet and weigh less than 100lbs? I swear the next 5ft 2 80lb woman who veers her Excursion at me is gonna get an earful. Its ridiculous and unsafe. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll stop making them since they have such bad gas mileage.
Don't even get me started
Don't even get me started on this topic. Car salesmen don't care that the person shouldn't be driving a car. It is true with all of the bigger trucks and not just the excursion. I've seen many women and guys who just don't know what they are doing driving these big vehicles. People see bigger as better and safer but don't realize that if they can't operate it correctly it isn't safe at all!
They may very well stop
They may very well stop marketing them soon, and I agree many salespeople put people in too much car for them. Its the same issue on horseback riding. Kids see the big horse and want to ride it no matter that they can't control it or see over its ears. Even if you can reach the pedals and see over the dash it could be very dangerous in anything but optimum conditions for many people of smaller statue. I find lots of smaller women with huge husbands tend to drive them to be „safe“ thinking that a tank will save them if they wrap it around a tree.
I tend to agree on that
I tend to agree on that one, I have seen some really short people drive better than tall ones (same with weight). If you are a bad driver you just need to be off the roads.
They are huge, aren't they?
As a 5'2" woman, I have to say that I would need a boost on this vehicle. However, what in the world does weight have to do with it? This has no bearing on ability to drive a vehicle. It's not the size of the person that makes them veer, it's the fact that they're either lousy or inattentive drivers.
Seat belt systems in he
Seat belt systems in he front of a car are made to hold in a 6ft male of appropriate weight which would obviously be less than 80lbs. After said short stickling runs into me head on or side swipes me because she can't control her tank of an SUV she will most likely have many injuries and try to sue me for being a newer driver. Its nothing to do with just height or weight, but the fact that at 5'2" and 80lbs you really are closer to being a child's stature who would need a safety seat and not an adult in a crash. And should the power steering go, there is no way they will be able to handle the vehicle at any speed…its nothing personal, just simple facts. I imagine you're not silly enough to drive more vehicle than you can handle. But most of the little ladies near me haven't the common sense to wear their seat belts half the time, let alone drive without chattering on their cell phones…putting them behind a huge vehicle is just making it worse.

There are some people that
There are some people that should just never drive and I fully believe that. Sometimes I can be on the wrong and wonder how certain people make it to where they are going.
