Never again

What is one of the hardest mods you have done to a ford or any other type that you just will never end up doing again? Something that drove you almost to the breaking point and made you think about paying someone else to finish it?

I will give you this

I will give you this little story: I was about six years old and it was the first time anyone ever let me try to help fix a car up. We had an old Chevy something and it had a flat so they started to show me how to work and change the tire. All I remember is the thing falling on my foot and I went screaming off and never went near a car again to fix for a good 10 years.

I think my two biggest

I think my two biggest problem areas are paints and mods. For the most work i don't have a decent sized area to work on anything and for paint I'm just really bad at any type of painting, home, car, anything else. I know my limits too, but still would love to improve where I'm lost at.

When it comes to

When it comes to modifications to cars I no my limits and that is ZERO!! LOL I always rely on the professionals to do things other than routine maintenance on my car. This way I get a good job with a warranty to back it up.

Love the stories! Keep em coming. When I was a teen a friends old ford truck broke and I have no idea what we did since it was so many years ago but I know it felt like that weekend was never going to end. Now still to this day I refuse to help him with anything car wise…..:)

I helped a friend replace

I helped a friend replace the alternator in his car. He was up visiting me at college and it went. We walked ten blocks into town to pick up the part and pay for it, and ten blocks back. Then we had to wait for a tow truck to get to a garage to borrow tools to put it in…if the garage and tow truck wasn't owned by a friend who stepped in and helped it could have been bad.

Rebuilding a Bronco motor

I didn't technically do this because I'm just not the mechanic in the family. But, once, several years back, my husband rebuilt the motor in a 1986 Ford Bronco. Oh my heavens, I thought that would take forever! Even though I wasn't doing it, I got to listen to all of his gripes, moans, and groans because it took him so long to get done. Normally, my hubby is in a good mood most of the time, but not that week. I was never so glad that week than when I saw him drive it down our hill for a test drive!

Helping Dad?!

When I was about 10 or 11 years old, I think my Dad most have been getting impatient waiting for my brother, who was six at the time, to get old enough to help out. So this man, who is usually pretty straight forward on what is a „man's job“ and what is a „woman's job“, decided to teach his daughter something about working on a car. He had a stool at the side of the car and we were leaning over the car. We took the air filter off and fiddled with the distrbutor, I think. Needless to say, that day dad became even more convinced that women should not work on cars. I was never allowed to even check to oil on one of cars from that point on.
