The 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle is just a beautiful and fast car. This one had the 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 FFV pushing 305HP and 279 lb-ft of torque. This one is special though.
The Fort Collins police department in Colorado has been serving the community for 100 years. The paint job was created by Officer Mike Crosland and a few others to celebrate 100 years of service and dedication to the people of Fort Collins, CO.
Now for the technical stuff. The FEPI has All-Wheel Drive with 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 FFV pushing 305HP and 279 lb-ft of torque. It can hold 5 people and the back is comfortable compared to the plastic in the chargers, these are actual seats that have actual cushioning. The Explorer is 196.8in long 90.2 inch wide with the mirrors, has a height of 69.86 inch and a wheelbase of 112.6 inch.
The Ford Explorer police interceptor has a total cargo volume of 119.0 cubic inches. All though this car only pushes 304 HP it gets 16 mpg city and 22 highway with an impressive 0-60 mph time of 8.4 seconds compared to the Chevy Tahoe PPV with a 0-60 mph time of 8.67 seconds and the Ford Crown Vic Interceptor with a 0-60 mph time of 9.95 seconds.
Currently the fastest Police interceptor available is the Ford Police Interceptor EcoBoost with a TT 3.5L V6 pushing 365 HP and 350 Lb-ft of torque with a 0-60 mph time of 6.19 seconds.
This was a great shoot, I hope in a few weeks I will be able to get my hands on an unmarked 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor. I would like to give a special thanks to Kevin and Mike and the Fort Collins, CO police dept. for taking the time to come meet me during the day to do a quick photo shoot on the Interceptor.
