I personally have a 2008 Ford Escape Limited 3.0L V6 that I drive everyday and take to every event and shoot I go to. It is an awesome car but the power isn't great and I hope to pump more power out of the 3.0L DOHC V6 I currently have.
I have tons of modifications I have done to my Ford Escape. The interior center consul has been wrapped in Carbon Fiber; I have a custom wired reverse camera, a custom switch panel wrapped in carbon fiber. I also have two 12" Pioneer Subwoofers and two Pioneer amps under the trunk of my Ford Escape pushing around 2,600 Watts of bass in the trunk. I also have a wired solar panel in my escape to keep the battery on a trickle charger while I am away.
I have done little to the engine besides a custom Spectra air intake system. The exterior has gotten a lot of work from me. I have put on a 3" Bull Bar with a 24" 120W LED Spot Light producing 9,000lm. I also have a 34" 180W Spot/Flood LED Bar producing 14,500lm. I now have 6,000K HID headlights and LED fog lights with custom LED rings around the fogs that I made and LEDs under the headlights.
I also switched out the headlight housing for the Sport model ones. The front grille is plastidipped and cut to allow more airflow. The rims are also plastidipped custom by me. I have a straight pipe exhaust system with a resonator and muffler delete but I kept the catalytic converters on.
I hope to have enough money to get a JCT Mass Flow Air sensor and then a custom tune for my Ford Escape to help produce more power. I used to live in Florida at sea level I am now in Fort Collins, CO at about 5,000 feet above sea level and I have seemed to lose a lot of power.
My original 0-60 mph was 9.8 seconds and now I got it at 13.0 seconds. I also hope to get 19" Vossen CV3's and possible lift it to Bronco height. But until that day comes my Escape is my favorite car.
