(Los Angeles, CA) - We almost didn't make X Games 2012. For the second straight year, ESPN rejected our application for media credentials. We would have thought this year would be our year since we were backing up rallycross driver David Binks of the Best Buy Rallycross team. Binks participated in X Games as a driver. CoolFords has been providing Binks with media support throughout the Global Rallycross Championship. His No. 17 OMSE Ford Fiesta even has CoolFords decals on the front bumper.

X Games was on a hot and sunny day at Staples Center. Perfect weather for racing. Local roads were blocked off to set up the course. You won't find your your typical traffic in downtown Los Angeles on this Sunday morning and afternoon. Instead, there was a traffic jam of rally cars at every corner with several accidents. Rhys Millen lost control of his steering and hit our partner David Binks. Travis Pastrana seemed like a target as usual just like in prior GRC races. Andy Scott slammed Pastrana's Dodge Dart hard into the wall. Pastrana was unable to complete due to major damages to the Dart. Finnish Ford drivers Marcus Gronholm and Toomas Hekkiken both were hospitalized due to crashes during the practice run. You can read the statement from Marcus's people
